Unpopular opinions book tag

Well, yes, you ask, this is another book tag 🙂

  1. A popular book / series that you did not like: – ACOTAR by SJM (I just didn’t enjoy it as much as the hype said I would). The Dark Tower (#1) by Steven King (this one I pretty much hated – it was so incredibly boring to me. It was only 197pages but it felt like 800). 77493_originalThedarktower7

  2. A popular book / series that is hated, but you love: – The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern . I don’t think that it is hated per say, but I’ve seen many people really disliking it! They say it’s slow, it’s boring, it’s confusing, it’s crap. Like really disliking it! But I loved it so very much! images-4

  3. A hateable OTP: – August and Kate from The Monsters of Verity duology. I just felt that romance in that book was completely unnecessary. 9781785652769

  4. A popular genre you hardly reach for: – chick lit, romance and science fiction.

  5. A beloved character you do not like: – Lila Bard from ADSOM series by V.E. Schwab. I hate that girl for some reason. I only read the first book, but I got sick and tired of Lila really quick. Although I quite liked her at the beginning. I guess to me she is just a kleptomaniac, with a weird affinity for knives, and not an awesome thief like she claims to be. I don’t know if she’s beloved though, but I know that she’s popular. Darker

  6. A popular author you cannot get into: – SJM. I tried though, I read ACOTAR and I just didn’t feel any of the feels people felt, didn’t really like any of the characters, didn’t care much for the smut scenes, just not my thing.

  7. A popular bookish trope you’re tired of seeing: – ugh, so many. 54263a_678d182644f3455b9113045cb0ce8274~mv2Love triangle is number one though. I just cannot stand it!! I mean, in real life I do not know anybody who ever found themselves in a love triangle situation. People cheating and see other people on the side, sure. But pure love triangles? I think it’s just fiction.

  8. Popular series you have no interest in reading: –  To all the boys I’ve loved before by Jenny Haan.

  9. A movie / tv show that’s better than the book – The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I just thought that movie Katniss was so much better, and bearable. The book Katniss was quite annoying. And the movies were just very nicely done, in my opinion. hunger-games-katniss

and also I thought that movie Hermione was much better than book Hermione. Book Hermione was a bit too bitchy and mean at times (I especially disliked when she was very mean and prejudiced towards Luna) I think it was much better done in the movie. And movie Hermione’s face expressions were priceless 😀 giphy-3

That is it for this tag. I love reading unpopular opinions. If you have done this tag already, comment a link to yours, so I can read it 🙂 And if you haven’t yet, well then you are tagged!

  1. There’s romance in Our Dark Duet??? 😱

And for me, a likable character I hated was Lloyd from the Diviners. He’s kinda like a kleptomaniac as well. Except, less violent (and no affinity for knives). But he stole a kiss from a girl (and robbed her) then it seems that it’s one of the reasons to ship them? I wasn’t swayed. Idk why, but I never liked him but everyone on goodreads liked him. I hated him with pure passion. LOL. Every time I see a “beloved character you do not like” question in a book tag, my thoughts immediately drifts to him. He’s a morally ambiguous character (and I usually like those kinds of characters), but I just can’t like him for some reason?? I have no clue why. Haha. I just hated Sam Lloyd so much. I feel so left behind.

  2. Aww I wasn’t very interested in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before either, but decided to listen to the audiobook. I’m glad I did! But it’s definitely a book for people who like contemporary romance. It’s “cute”.
