www Wednesday (August 16th)

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam at Taking over world of words .

You know the drill!

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently reading: Mistborn (The Final Empire #1) by Brandon Sanderson.

In a world where ash falls from the sky, and mist dominates the night, an evil cloaks the land and stifles all life. The future of the empire rests on the shoulders of a troublemaker and his young apprentice. Together, can they fill the world with color once more?

I’m about 200 pages in and so far the story is just setting up itself. The writing is very enjoyable so far (although there have been a lot of info-dumping). I like it, but really hoping it picks up as everybody and their mother have recommended it for me to read.

Don’t let me down, Sanderson!

Recently finished reading: Pretty Little Liars (#1) by Sara Shepard The_original_cover_of_the_first_book_in_the_series,_Pretty_Little_Liars

Everyone has something to hide-especially high school juniors Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hanna.
Spencer covets her sister’s boyfriend. Aria’s fantasizing about her English teacher. Emily’s crushing on the new girl at school. Hanna uses some ugly tricks to stay beautiful. But they’ve all kept an even bigger secret since their friend Alison vanished.
How do I know? Because I know everything about the bad girls they were, the naughty girls they are, and the dirty secrets they’ve kept. And guess what? I’m telling.

This book is both garbage and the most addicting read ever. The writing is very poor, but I loved the show, so I think I still enjoyed it for nostalgic reasons.

Next read: Burial rites by Hannah Kent

A brilliant literary debut, inspired by a true story: the final days of a young woman accused of murder in Iceland in 1829.

Set against Iceland’s stark landscape, Hannah Kent brings to vivid life the story of Agnes, who, charged with the brutal murder of her former master, is sent to an isolated farm to await execution.

I’ve actually started this already and read about 30 pages. But I put it on hold to read Mistborn. I liked what I’ve read so far very much.

Have a great week everybody ❤

  1. I’m honestly so excited that you’re reading Mistborn! It was my second Sanderson’s novel YEARS ago & it still holds up now. 😮 And yeah, it picks up quite a bit!! And the further into the trilogy you get, the more complicated and vast the story becomes!!

      1. It really gets even more complex in the second & third book but also everything makes perfect sense together!! And yeah, I can see how the magic system could be confusing at first! Takes some time to get used to it. :>>
